dream island

The Island (in my mind) -by Raymond A. Foss

There is a place where only I can go
A space of solitary quietude
a singular solitude
where my thoughts can roam

Ponder and probe
Mull and meander down paths
only I would follow
Away from the noise around me

Finding a centering, a grounding
in the island of my mind.

I like that - I think of my mind as being a refuge also.

Beautiful islands. Well in fact any of the Caribbean islands are. I've been to Cuba, both north and south of the island. From the plane is amazing. Never been to this one but the experience must be similar. Nice mood with the poem :)

Thanks Carlos! That's wonderful that you have been to Cuba. A friend of mine in high school was a first generation American; her parents both came here from Cuba. I loved going to her house and hearing the language (and smelling yummy dinners being prepared for the family)!
