zen thoughts: sign in window

A husband & wife came for counseling after 35 years of marriage. When asked what the problem was, the wife went into a passionate, painful tirade listing every problem they had ever had in all those married years. She went on & on, neglect, lack of intimacy, emptiness, loneliness, feeling unloved & unlovable. An entire laundry list of un-met needs she had endured over the course of their marriage.

Finally, after allowing this to go on for a sufficient length of time the therapist got up, walked around the desk, and, after asking the wife to stand, embraced & kissed her passionately. The woman shut up & quietly sat down as though in a daze. The therapist turned to the husband & said, "This is what your wife needs at least three times a week. Can you do this?"

The husband thought for a moment & replied, "Well I can drop her off here on Mondays & Wednesdays, but on Fridays, I fish"!

Hi Beth- Guess where the storefront is.....yup, Mt. Shasta. It is from the same set of photos that I posted on the other blog. But this one belonged over here! :)

Somehow I think I'd lose my license if I tried that with a patient!

Hi Citizen- D'ya think? Probably wouldn't work to take a patient fishing, either. Guess you'll just have to stick to the tried-and-true. :)

I just saw a t-shirt in Seattle that said, "Jesus said to go fish. He didn't say go mow the lawn, clean the gutters or change the oil in the car."

Now that's funny, Ted!
