hahahah!... how's that for hard sell!.. drink dr pepper or you're a looohhooooser.....!
Can't help but rebel against that sort of advertising. Nice retro add though :-)
We got a pepper like that the other day, it's a smug feeling to think you've got more than one for the price of one :-)

It's the oddest thing--I've noticed the yellow and red peppers often have small green peppers growing within.

Their shapes can be, er, hilarious sometimes. Great pic by the way!

I htink all bell peppers start out green, so these are little immature peppers on the inside. I always eat them while I'm cutting up the pepper.

I had a red pepper once that had three baby green peppers inside, wish I had thought to take a picture!

I really enjoy your blog.

Sunny :)

@the watercats- That's just a kick thinking of you feeling smug that you got more than one pepper! So cute.

@YogaforCynics- That, and so much more .. .

@Beth- Really? You've noticed that about the yellow and red ones? This was the first one I had like this. I guess that's why I took the photo, and if more come my way I'll shoot them too!

@secret agent woman- I have a bunch of pepper aficionados teaching me here! This is great learning more about them, other than I like the orange best, yellow next best, red next, and the green ones don't like me one bit!

@Sunny- Welcome! I really enjoy your comments and your smile. :)
Your pepper sounds like it was one to really sing about, so click the video one more time!

@Samurai- Yes, and wanna hear a sad thing? Ever since my husband saw this post he has had Dr. Pepper with his fast food meals. Talk about the power of suggestion!

Envation of the Pepper People!!?

Lydia said...

@Phivos- I'm smiling!

@Ted- Kinda scary, isn't it? I cut an orange pepper open the other night and found a tiny pod of a green pepper. I felt cheated. :)

That's a strange beautiful pepper. As to Dr. Pepper we don't have around here but I am aware of it. Nice old ad.

@Carlos- It's a fun ad, and has led to some fun around our house. After my husband read this post he suddenly became thirsty for Dr. Pepper. He has it when he eats lunch. I don't drink soda pop but I did when I was a kid, and we loved Dr. Pepper hot with a slice of lemon floating on top.
