that's a wrap

As the commercialism of the holidays fast approaches this is a reminder that bubble wrap is a bummer for the Earth (styrofoam packing peanuts are, too). There are numerous sites that sell biodegradable packing peanuts. Among them are:

Biodegradable packing material goes straight into my compostor. I always dissolve just one of the little guys in water to see the magic. It's not nice, but it's better than popping a whole community of bubblewrap babies!

I will never look at the fun of popping bubble wrap the same way again.

Thanks! This is really good to know!

@Sunny- I know! Neither will I. This really made my husband laugh tonight, and he needs it (lots of work stress). Thanks for "popping" in!. :)

@Kathleen- My pleasure. :) The ones made of cornstarch are my favorites. And they are as strong as can be so serve their intended function well.

@Kathleen- I just read more at Puffy Stuff, and see that their product is something different. I haven't tried it yet, but maybe I'll like them as much as the cornstarch ones. Wortha try!

Always with useful information and awareness. You are a real lady for public life, a citizen of the world! Hugs from a small part of this planet.

Okay, I got a queasy feeling when the little bubble started begging for mercuy and had to stop watching!

I use the biodegradable peanuts or paper, but I also re-use bubble wrap and styrofoam peanuts when they are in a package someoone has sent to me.

@Phivos- I consider being called a citizen of the world one of the highest compliments anyone has ever given me. :)

@secret agent woman- You make a good point about re-using the stuff we receive in packaging from others. I do that too, especially since learning that my saved supply won't be able to be recycled locally...not yet, anyway.
Sorry you got queasy!

Have you come across those edible packing peanuts? It's the oddest thing--and they even kind of taste okay. Well, I HAD to try one!

@Beth- From the tone of your comment I believe that you are telling me the truth! But, no, I haven't heard of them and am more than curious to see what's going on. :)
