Much to my surprise my calendar informs me that today is the one-year blogiversary of Clutterquake.
Much to my chagrin I have not cleared all my clutter in the past year.
Much in my favor I have made headway in clearing more clutter in the next year, by way of renting another storage unit to haul everything from the upstairs room in order to paint, re-floor, and redecorate minimally.
Much to my pleasure, and hopefully yours, I discovered this marvelous video that serves as an incentive to get beyond the gunk in our lives that keeps us stuck in the muck so as to see what beauty is out there in the world.
Think happy thoughts.
Throw away, give away, recycle something each day.
Do something good for Earth each day for the rest of your life.
Take a deep, cleansing breath.....and blow out the one-year candle, but let your own light shine.

Beautiful video. Happy Blogiversary!
Alas, I'm just seeing a black box there--very 2001...but I suspect it's my computer not your blog...it's being such a pain in the ass tonight.
Anyway, happy blogiversary!
@secret agent woman- Thanks! The year went fast. :)
@YogaforCynics- I hate when my computer is a pain in the ass. Try this link.
Thanks for the good wishes. :)
Happy Anniversary, Lydia.
Now that you mention it, I see my apartment looks a bit of a mess too.
Thanks.

: )
@bk- Wish I could send a merry maid over to your place to free you of the chore . . . consider the thought my anniversary gift to you. :)
@Ted- ;)
This is SO timely for me, I am thinking lately how I want to go through the house and clean out SO much stuff. I detest clutter. I can't seem to think with clutter. I tend to be very orderly but lately the order has been replaced with too much stuff. LOL!
I am going to try and have a yard sale. If I don't have time I will take it all to Goodwill. But I MUST pare down. My husband and I were just talking about this a few days ago and then I come here and am very much inspired to clear out all the 'stuff'. It really is amazing how clutter affects our lives. At least for me.
Thank you. And HAPPY BLOG-IVERSARY!! LOL!!!
Hugs, Robin. :)
@Robin- I can't think with clutter either and the longer it's around the more disorienting it can be. Have that yard sale while you are stirred to do it. I was all gung-ho to have one the year following my mother's death (and the acquisition of so much of her stuff) but my husband poo-pooed the idea. He's sorry for that now. In the meantime, I've given much to Goodwill and have sold quite a bit on ebay (my neighbor has a business on ebay and it's worth paying her a percentage for all the hassle she has of advertising and especially packaging/mailing).
Also, a worker at Goodwill told me on Dec. 31, 2008, when I took over a bunch of stuff so it would count on taxes for the year, that beginning in 2009 we need to take photos of our donations for proof if audited. Need to check that info out. :)
Happy Anniversary and all the best by heart my dear friend Lydia. I do really enjoy your blog.
@Phivos- Ah! You must have returned from your holiday! It is wonderful to have this kind message from you. :)
