On Yoga and Mozart on Mozart's Birthday

In celebration of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birthday on January 27, and because I have permission from the poet, I am posting this amazingly beautiful poem in honor of the occasion.
Happy Birthday, Mozart!

Yoga and Mozart
by Bob Weisenberg
(author of Yoga Demystified blog)

I’ve decided to dispense with Yoga
And just listen to Mozart all the time.

It gives me the same sense of wonder.
It fills me with the same infinite cosmic joy.

It collapses my entire being into the present moment
Where the music is divine
I am divine
You are divine
The whole world is one and divine.

I’ve decided to dispense with Yoga
And just listen to Mozart all the time.

But then again
Why not have both?
For are they not one and the same?

Of interest:
The link takes you to the last known portrait painted of Mozart, discovered only in recent years.

Utterly and unabashedly brilliant. :D

Just what I was afraid of. That portrait of Mozart link leads to a whole forum and whole blogosphere on Mozart. Could be as addictive as the Yoga blogosphere.

Very happy you enjoyed my poem.

Doppleganger- I absolutely, positively, passionately agree with you!

Bob- I know! I was wrapped up in that Mozart blogoshere as soon as I found it. Can't think of any two more ideal addictions, though: Mozart and Yoga Blogospheres. :)

I more than enjoyed the poem. I took it to heart, where it will stay. Many thanks for sharing it with us.

Bob- That is so kind of you! I tried very hard to create a community login page at Yoga Journal so I could comment there, but no matter what combos of usernames and passwords I tried, the system insisted that they were already in use. :(
It's something I'll have to try another time.

Amazingly beautiful poem indeed!

Well, I would say that just listening to Mozart is a little SAFER says one who is still suffering from old Yoga injuries.

Phivos~ Yes :)

Snowbrush~ You make a good point (funny too). It's a reminder to not push beyond where your body wants to go at the time...

Hmmm, never thought of the safety factor.

Chalk one up for Mozart.

On the other hand, you might not have as long a life to bliss out if you don't get off your duff and do Yoga once in a while.

So I'd say it's a toss up.
