I sure hope so because there are days when it doesn't feel like it!

@the watercats- :) :)

@secret agent woman- (love your avatar photo!) Those are the days when you need to read this to remind yourself of the truth of these beautiful words...I do that, too.

Well I hope there's a reason !

Sounds like the University of Nevada, Reno, was a happening place. There is a book called the Deadbase which has information about nearly every concert the Dead ever played, and wealth of other info about them as well; and I happen to have a copy here at the house, so that explains how I was able to find your concert date so quickly... although I guess the info is out there on the web as well somewhere. Santana in school gym... wow, that must have been somthing else ! For some reason I'd been going mainly to your other blog, will have to remember to keep an eye on this one too. Am beginning to think I need an infinite number of eyes to keep track of everything going on in the blogosphere... (sigh) :-)

@Owen- Hey, thank you for visiting this blog, too -- but I sure understand the sigh at the end of your comments because it is difficult to keep up with everyone. Don't let Clutterquake clutter your already busy life!
Thanks for sharing the secret to your being able to peg exactly when I saw the Dead at UNR. And, yes, Santana in the old gym was really something - very up close and personal. In that same venue I also saw Jesse Colin Young (do you know of him? I really loved his stuff) and, get this, Ike and Tina Turner....oh yeah Big Mary keep on turnin'...

Lydia said...

@Owen - err, I mean Proud Mary keep on burnin' !
If my parents back then had made the mistake in lyrics I made above I'd have thought they were totally hopeless!

~~~Hello....
I so loved your comments you left on my bloggy. I can so relate to Owen. I don't know how everyone keeps up. I want to be everywhere, in every moment to read everything everyone writes.
I am thankful I was here to read this lovely message. May I copy it to post on my bathroom mirror? In fact I can see the tippy top of "be the gardener of a naturescape" as I'm typing in your comment box... I'll probably want that one, too. LOL
PS I love Reno. I used to go up there all the time when I lived in SO CA. I bought a locket at an antique store there that I wore for years & years. I always wanted to sing on the Grand Old Opery stage. I went there once to get a chip of wood from the stage floor to put inside my locket. Long story short... It was like pulling into Disneyland. I could get no where near the stage so I put some dirt inside my locket. I was certain some famous singers had walked on that clump of soil. It is still inside my locket. I think it would give me some good healing vibes to start wearing it again. :-)
One day I will return to Reno. I dearly miss those mountains. Also, Thank you for being so transparent and sharing so much of yourself here, and on my comment section. Your sharing helps me in so many ways. Thank you, again. <3 <3 <3
@Lille Diane- YouR comments mean so much to Me! Thanks for these here. And by all means yes post this on your blog. It is a tiny 3"x3" thing in a clear plastic stand that I got to keep in "my" bathroom at my mother's house in her final months. It kept me balanced and focused on her during times of great stress and sadness.
Nice words. Yep, you live better when you are sure that you are here for a reason. In that sense I envy the religious approach to life. I wish I could feel it too but sometimes I am too much with my feet on the ground and can't find any reason whatsoever, except for the fact, that I prefer to be here and not just somewhere else. Totally agree on that, we must be here for a reason, then it all makes sense.
I got your profile from Braja's blog... loved your description of yourself.
Lydia said...
@Carlos- I like the way you think! Look at it this way...if the only reason you are here is for your art then you have surpassed all reason for being here. :)
@Phoenix- O, thank you for that. Braja's blog is a wonderful place, and seems to be a great place to make new friends, also. I'll be by your blog for a visit.
After the miraculous survival of my parents when they rolled across three lanes of traffic...wow--I KNOW there is a reason--just what it is I haven't figured out yet.
But I know there must be a reason, and that all things go together for our good.
Lydia said...
@Beth- These words probably do have a deeper meaning for you, after the scare you had recently. Your parents have an awesome survival story!
This is very true, and we'd all benefit to remember this.
Lydia said...
@Samurai- I sure agree. :)
I think of the compliment as being that the elements of this moment will never happen in this way again.
Lydia said...
@Ted- And isn't that miraculous?!
Ted Bagley said...
Indeed.
@Ted- :)
That is lovely, it is great what the sign says, I think it is true indeed. I was thinking that maybe I would add keep being playfull, never stop being a kid.
Lydia said...
@Mariana- You have reminded me of something I do need to be told. Keeping playfulness is one of the keys to having a fulfilling life, I think.
