April Jarocka in her studio

Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema. In My Studio. 1893

I'm quite taken by the realistic and beautifully calm artwork of a new follower here at Clutterquake.  She is April Jarocka, an artist in Ireland currently at work on three paintings for a proposal for a Gallery exhibition. I've long been a collector of stones and rocks, so I am especially attracted to her beachscapes featuring stones. But all of her illustrations for children's books and her other paintings are beautiful, and her photography also has a clean and evocative sense to it.

Consider this post a little salute to you, April, as you work serenely in your studio.

And while April works on her three paintings, here is something for the rest of us to consider.....

Who sees the human face correctly: the photographer, the mirror, or the painter?
- Pablo Picasso

Why thank you Lydia...I'm honored! Not sure I deserve this post or that my studio is quite like that, but thank you! lol
Actually it's funny you posted the picture up there because I really love mediaeveal things - funny coincidence there.

Regards
April

@April- My pleasure! That is an interesting coincidence. The painting reminded me of a friend of mine, an artist, who has disappeared somewhere in California...and your red hair reminds me of her!

I hope you find her! Isn't it a great loss when someone just 'disappears' or becomes out of reach.

The painting is super!

@April- I hope so too! She has been living a vagabond-type life the last four years, and moved from her sister's home without a forwarding address. In the meantime, I lost her cell phone number and changed my email ISP. Altogether, these make for obstacles. :(

@Phivos- Oh, and I like it too!

I'll keep you both in my prayers Lydia...

@April- Thanks much. I do think there is much power in prayers from afar! I'm going to say one for my friend's safety and happiness right now because I do worry about her...
